MQM-P, No faith in the PPP causes them to look up to the “powerful.”: Farooq Sattar

KARACHI : Farooq Sattar, the head of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), said on Monday that his organisation looked up to “powerful circles” because it did not trust the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

Speaking to the media, he said that everyone residing in Karachi should be tallied and that the census was not the issue of any one political party. “Census takes place every 10 years, although the most recent will be performed after five years,” he said. “But, the previous census took place after a gap of 17 years.”

He said that since Karachi people will once again be underrepresented in the census, they also anticipated that politics would complicate the count. “Each apartment must be listed individually since a building does not include a single residence,” he said. He said that the number of union councils had decreased.
