Yet another achievement to add to Babar Azam’s crown

LAHORE – Babar Azam, the captain of the national squad, has 12,000 international runs in the shortest amount of time.

The national team skipper became the eighth Pakistani hitter to reach this title after he scored 49 runs off of 46 balls against New Zealand in Rawalpindi.

After Indian batsman Virat Kohli, captain Babar Azam is currently ranked second among Asian batters with 12,000 runs scored.

Under the direction of Babar Azam, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by a margin of five wickets in the opening of a five-match ODI series yesterday. The squad also passed the mark of 500 ODI wins, making them the third team in the world to do so.

Australia and India previously held the record for amassing 500 wins.
