Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has revealed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have nominated five candidates for the position of caretaker prime minister.
The PML-N stalwart stated in a statement that all of the selected applicants were politicians. He also stated that he had not been approached with an offer to oversee the temporary setup.
Asif stated that the names of the candidates would be considered with other political parties and that a decision would be made within a week. He stated that the final decision would be made by the coalition partners’ leadership.
