ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Teachers from the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) held a protest on Thursday over the government’s proposal to subordinate Islamabad’s educational institutions to the Municipal Corporation under the Local Government Ordinance 2021.
By eliminating the barricades, the demonstrators were able to get in front of the Parliament and manhandle security officials.
They also sang chants against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, demanding that it reverse its decision.
Teachers are protesting the Municipal Corporation’s decision to place educational institutions under its control.
