LAHORE (A News) – On New Year’s Eve, Punjab police apprehended 293 suspects. The suspects were apprehended on accusations of disobeying government instructions and firing from the air.
The police had made tight security precautions earlier in the year in order to limit celebratory shooting and other fireworks on New Year’s Eve.
According to the police, there have been 106 cases of rioting and aerial firing, 59 cases of one wheeling, 30 cases of pyrotechnics, 37 drug-related offences, and 17 cases of guns and ammunition ordinance.
