ISLAMABAD – An Islamabad police sub-inspector was murdered in a shootout with suspects in a four-wheeler at a private housing society on the Bhara Kahu neighbourhood on Saturday.
According to officials, armed persons in a vehicle opened fire on workers at a private society, wounding three of them.
“As soon as the police were alerted to the incident, they chased and intercepted the car,” they said, adding, “After an exchange of fire between the two sides, sub-inspector Liaquat received injuries and subsequently died while being transported to a medical facility.”
As a consequence of the shooting, a police officer was injured, and one of the passengers in the automobile was shot and detained. “The second conspirator, on the other hand, was able to run,” they stated.
The injured and the body were sent to a hospital for medical treatment and legal processes.
