In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the second round of Local Government (LG) elections will take place today in 18 districts (Thursday). The polls will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m.
Elections will be held in the districts of Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, Upper and Lower Kohistan, Kolai-Palas, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Lower and Upper Dir, Upper and Lower Chitral, Kurram, Orakzai, and North and South Waziristan for the positions of mayor and chairman of tehsil and city councils, as well as different categories of members in village and neighbourhood councils
A total of 6,176 polling stations have been set up in the province’s 18 districts for the second round of local body elections, with 1,609 of them identified as most sensitive.
The second round of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s 18 districts has been completed. A total of 8.057 million people will vote in the second phase.
