After his visit to Moscow, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will meet with Zelensky in Ukraine.

The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky next week, following a visit to Moscow to discuss the war with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the UN said on Friday.

According to the UN, Guterres will meet with Zelensky and Ukraine’s foreign minister on Thursday, two days after his visit to Moscow.

The Kremlin announced on Friday that Putin will meet with Guterres on Tuesday.

In letters published this week, Guterres sought these in-person meetings in an effort to recapture the initiative for the UN, which has been mostly sidelined in the crisis since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.
