By May 21, Iran intends to execute a Swedish-Iranian spy.

As the trial of a former Iranian official suspected of war crimes in Sweden came to a close on Wednesday, Iran’s semi-official ISNA news agency stated that a Swedish-Iranian national sentenced to death in Iran on charges of spying for Israel will be executed by May 21.

Ahmadreza Djalali, a disaster medicine doctor and researcher, was arrested in Iran in 2016 while on an academic visit. ISNA reported that Djalali will be executed later this month, although the Iranian Court has yet to respond.
