Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has urged for a coordinated response to the threats of Covid, climate change, and conflict to food security.
Speaking at the “Global Food Security Call to Action” Ministerial Meeting in New York on Thursday, he said recent geopolitical developments have exacerbated the already difficult situation of food security.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, the country is capable of not only meeting its own food security needs, but also of assisting in the feeding of people in the area and around the world.
He expressed regret that Pakistan’s agricultural and industrial potential had yet to be realised.
