Journalist Arshad Sharif’s body was being transported by flight from Nairobi to Islamabad.

Islamabad. At 1:25 am on Tuesday, the aeroplane carrying the deceased body of veteran journalist and anchorperson Arshad Sharif departed Nairobi. Arshad Sharif’s corpse will be sent to Islamabad through Doha.

According to reports, Kenyan police shot and killed Arshad Sharif on Sunday along the Nairobi-Magadi highway in a “mistaken identification case.”

According to Kenyan media, the journalist violated a roadblock set up to watch over vehicles using the route and was tragically shot in the head by police.

The media said that they were instructed to stop a car that resembled the one Arshad Sharif and his driver were driving after it was involved in a carjacking in Nairobi and a kid was held captive.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier called Kenyan President William Ruto on Monday to urge him to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into the death of respected journalist Arshad Sharif.

While discussing the unfortunate occurrence with the president of Kenya, the prime minister also expressed the country and media of Pakistan’s grave worries.

Additionally, he had asked the Kenyan president to expedite the completion of the necessary paperwork to return the deceased journalist’s remains to Pakistan.

The tragedy was lamented by President William Ruto, who also promised that justice would be done.

In addition to promising to speed up the process of recovering the deceased journalist’s remains, he also promised to disclose the investigative results shortly.
