After Abrar’s magical debut, Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel were undefeated at stumps.

MULTAN – Pakistan reached 107-2 at stumps on the first day of their second Test against England in Multan on Friday, trailing by 174 runs.

Earlier, Pakistani spinners Abrar Ahmed and Zahid Mahmood bowled the English side out for a meagre 281.

Abrar, who made his debut, grabbed seven wickets, while Zahid contributed three. England were 245 for nine when the tail-enders took over, with Mark Wood hitting eight fours to score 36 runs. However, Zahid claimed James Anderson’s wicket while attempting to sweep the hit. The ball struck the leg stump, and Zahid took his third wicket.

Zak Crawley retired at 19, Ducket 63, Pope 60, Joe Root 8 and Harry Brook added nine runs to the team’s total of 180. Meanwhile, England lost nine wickets just after lunch.
England won the toss and chose to bat first. The series is now 1-0 in favour of the visiting team.
