LAHORE (A News) Friday, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi declared that Jampur will be elevated to district level, while Dajal and Muhammadpur would be elevated to tehsil rank.
Parvez Elahi said that he had chosen to declare Jampur a district in response to the people’s persistent demand. The chief minister also reaffirmed his will to make Jampur the finest district in Punjab by expanding the city’s surroundings and resolving inhabitants’ difficulties. He said that the construction of a new district will generate tens of thousands of new employment possibilities in Jampur and enhance service delivery in Jampur, Muhammadpur, and Dajal.
He said that a university in Jampur was among the government’s top goals. “It would give better education possibilities to pupils, particularly ladies,” he remarked, adding that Jampur reminded him of Gujrat.
