MQM-P threatens to resign from government if the ‘delimitation demand’ is not met.

KARACHI – Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) chief Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiiqui issued a warning to the present government on Sunday, threatening to leave the alliance if its demand for the delimitation of local government seats in Karachi and Hyderabad is not met.

Earlier, the MQM-P delegation met with Prime Minister Shehbaz, during which the delegation, led by MQM-P convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and including Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori and Waseem Akhtar, informed the Prime Minister of their party’s grievances and reservations regarding the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

The team also claimed that MQM-P flags and banners are being removed in Karachi before of the seconf phase of Local Government (LC) elections next month, according to sources.

The MQM-P delegation also underlined the problem of unmet PPP pledges and requested the Prime Minister to fulfil his duty as guarantor of the PPP-MQM-P agreement.
