PDM urges that MQM-P not run in by-elections.

ISLAMABAD, – On Thursday, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) asked the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) not to run in the by-election.

According to sources close to the situation, the PDM contacted the MQM-P leadership and requested that by-elections be avoided.

MQM-P requested more time to speak with the party’s Rabita Committee, stating that the situation is different in both Punjab and Sindh and that the committee would look into the subject.

The MQM-P leadership further said that the decision would be made with the ground realities in mind, noting that the party had just boycotted local body elections.

It should be mentioned that the coalition parties have opted not to participate in the by-election, and the PPP and PML-N have instructed their candidates to withdraw their candidature papers.
