Police have been told to be vigilant in Mianwali and DG Khan ahead of the JBT.

LAHORE – The Punjab interim administration on Sunday urged police in Mianwali and Dera Ghazi Khan to be vigilant in order to maintain calm ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-(PTI) Insaf’s Prison Bharo Tehreek rally (JBT).

This was agreed by Punjab interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi during a meeting attended by Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, the province’s Inspector General (IG) Dr Usman Anwar, and others. The administration chose against arresting people soliciting voluntary arrests but it decided to arrest those acting “against the law”.

Previously, PTI president Imran Khan declared that the JBT will depart from Lahore on February 22. Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the government would not fill the prisons with individuals misled by Mr Khan, but would put PTI activists who sought to cause disorder in the nation behind bars.
