ISLAMABAD (APP): Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi presided over the 49th Board of Governors (BoG) Meeting on Friday at the Bahria University Head Office in this city in his position as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman BoG.
According to a Pakistan Navy news release, the BoG meeting started with a thorough briefing of the board on the various activities carried out at the university, including the expansion and diversification of academic disciplines, infrastructure improvements, and new initiatives in both academic and non-academic domains.
He was also informed of the austerity measures Bahria University was doing in light of the inflation and crisis at the time.
The CNS commended Bahira University’s committed and comprehensive efforts in not only providing students with a high-quality education but also helping to develop their character and personalities by using cutting-edge pedagogical techniques.
Additionally, he emphasised the need of placing a strong emphasis on helping students acquire abilities like critical thinking, solution-oriented approaches, research and development, problem-solving, and professional grooming.
He praised Bahria University’s participation in the Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC)-2023, which was held in Karachi and included the debut of the Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park (PMSTP).
He also expressed his congratulations to Bahria University for taking home the PIMEC-2023 trophy.
Board members, including Rector BU Vice Admiral (R) Asif Khaliq HI(M), senior Naval/Civil officials, and pertinent top administration of the university attended the BoG meeting.
