ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – A criminal case has been filed in the Islamabad High Court against former army leader Gen (Retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, ex-director general Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Faiz Hameed, and two journalists for breaking the Official Secrets Act.
Petitioner Atif Ali said that all of the guys engaged in the case acted irresponsibly while conducting interviews and published them.
According to the petitioner, the disclosures made by Gen (r) Bajwa and Gen (r) Hameed violated the Official Secrets Act and amounted to instigating mutiny and dissension.
The petitioner asked the court to instruct the director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to file a FIR against retired generals and journalists Javed Chaudhry and Shahid Maitla.
It also requested that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) impose a ban on the two journalists.
The registrar’s office, on the other hand, objected to the petition and sent the petitioner to the proper venue.
