Elahi’s assistant After 38 days, Zubair Khan recovered.

LAHORE, Pakistan — Following the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) decision to retrieve abductees till April 17, former Punjab chief minister (CM) complaint cell chairman Zubair Ahmad Khan was apprehended on Saturday after being missing for 38 days.

Mr Niazi is connected to former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. He was apparently kidnapped from outside his home.

The anti-corruption establishment (ACE) court also acquitted Mr Khan of a complaint filed by the ACE against him a day earlier after he was presented before the institution. In court, he was represented by lawyer Amir Saeed Ran.

Following the acquittal, Mr Khan approached Mr Elahi. The former CM said that he and his associates were being targeted because they were loyal to PTI chairman Imran Khan. “We will avoid bogus cases,” he continued.

Earlier, Punjab police conducted another search at Mr Elahi’s home in Gujrat.

Police surrounded the previous chief minister’s mansion, Kunjah House, for two hours before leaving without taking any action. At the time of the raid, no one from Elahi’s family was present in the residence.

It is not the first time that police have raided Mr Elahi’s home. The Kunjah House was raided by the police in February. Elahi said at the time that the searches on his house and other locations were carried out at the whims of the Punjab caretaker administration and the federal government.
