LAHORE – The large-scale police operation against seasoned criminals and terrorists is still going strong in the Katcha district today as authorities tout further victories.
A Punjab Police official said that during the course of the last two months, 51 bandits have been detained, 26 have surrendered, and 12 desperate bandits have been slain.
In addition to three authorities being hurt, he said that policeman Muhammad Qasim was slain while battling the culprits. A no-go area of almost 60,000 acres of land was cleared during the operation. He noted that in the locations the police had cleared, there were now three police community schools as well as two dispensaries.
The police allegedly burned and set ablaze dozens of criminals’ bunkers and covert hideouts, the official said. The writ of the government has been established in places like Katcha Moro, Katcha Jamal, Katcha Imrani, Chak Kapra, Chak Chirag Shah, Jungo Thandi, Khairpur Bambili, Chak Chandia, Rakh Shahwali, and Katcha Razi after the criminal gangs were destroyed.
The statement said that gangs and criminals with deep pockets, such as Bangiani, Sukhani, Imrani, Lund, Dalani, Pitt, and Sadani, were forced to depart. Numerous locations, including ambushes, have police pickets in place.
Numerous firearms, including 12.7 machine guns (anti-aircraft), rocket launchers, G3, SMG, LMGs, Kalashnikovs, repeaters, hand grenades, and hundreds of ammunition, were found from the criminals.
Along with the police officers on the front lines in the Katcha area, Punjab IG Dr. Usman Anwar, D G Khan RPO, and Rajanpur RPO are there and in charge of the operation.
