ISLAMABAD : The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will publish its monetary policy rate.
According to a statement issued by the central bank, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will meet on June 12 to review the country’s overall financial position, economic indicators, and the performance of various internal and external sectors, as well as to decide on monetary policy.
Following the MPC meeting, the central bank would release the Monetary Policy Statement on the same day.
The MPC decided to raise the policy rate by 100 basis points to 21% at its previous meeting on April 4, 2023, arguing that doing so was an important step towards anchoring inflation expectations around the medium-term target, which is critical for achieving the goal of price stability.
Following the presentation of the federal government’s budget for fiscal year 2023-24, the central bank will declare the policy rate.
