MULTAN – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi claimed on Saturday that he never supported and had nothing to do with the 9/5 occurrences.
However, he reaffirmed that he was a PTI member. He claimed that several cases had been filed against him, but that none of them could be proven in a court of law.
He said that he will join the PTI as a senior leader. He said that he was not engaged in any wrongdoing and was not in support of it.
Speaking to the media outside Multan Sessions Court, Qureshi said that he was a member of the PTI and that five cases were filed against him in Multan, and that he was accused of 13 accusations, none of which could be proven. He said he was not in Multan but was in Islamabad when he was apprehended and sent to Adiala Jail.
He said that the bogus cases recorded in Multan had harmed the administration’s reputation. He said he was imprisoned under the Anti-Terrorism Act and was neither directly or indirectly engaged in any crime during the May 9 incidents.
