ISLAMABAD : On Monday, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) suggested to the administration that legislatures be dissolved by August 8.
Speaking in front of lawmakers, federal minister for commerce Naveed Qamar said that dissolving assemblies was within the purview of the federal government. Before the elections, the PPP desired electoral changes, he said.
Mr. Qamar emphasized that under no circumstances can the caretaker establishment go longer than the constitutional time. He said that his party will not compromise on its fundamental position on the issue.
According to the federal minister, concerns like the RTS system and political party agreement were crucial for election changes.
