— (Reuters) The Eagles announced on Thursday that co-founder Randy Meisner, who sang lead on the 1975 smash song “Take It to the Limit,” had passed away on Wednesday as a result of complications from lung disease. He was 77.
Meisner, a bassist, formed the original Eagles band in 1971 with Glenn Frey, Don Henley, and Bernie Leadon, contributing to albums including “Eagles,” “Desperado,” “On the Border,” “One of These Nights,” and “Hotel California.”
