ISLAMABAD: In the cypher case, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi appeared before a special court established up in Islamabad to handle charges related to the Official Secrets Act from throughout the nation on Monday.
Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain of Anti-Terrorism Court No. 1 was designated as the special court’s judge earlier in the day.
The ATC acknowledged that a single court will handle complaints filed under the Official Secrets Act across the country.
Judge Zulqarnain presided over the proceedings against Qureshi behind closed doors. Before the hearing began, all unconcerned individuals were requested to leave the courtroom, and police officers stood watch outside.
During today’s hearing, the court postponed its decision on the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) motion to grant the PTI leader a 13-day physical remand.
