Mastung suicide bombing in Balochistan results in at least 30 fatalities and over 50 injuries.

MASTUNG – At least 30 people were killed and more than 50 were injured in a ‘powerful’ bomb in Balochistan’s Mastung region.

The injured have been sent to the DHQ Hospital. The event occurred on Al Falah Road near Madina Masjid. Ambulances from Rescue 1122, police, and Bomb Disposal Squad personnel are on the site.

All hospitals have declared a state of emergency. Soon after the event, security personnel blocked off the area.

DSP Nawaz Gashkori was one of those killed. A suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowd, according to a spokeswoman for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan.
Earlier this month, a bomb in the same district injured at least 11 people, including Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hamdullah.

According to his spokeswoman, Interim Sindh Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar denounced the bombing.

The top ministers stated in a statement that those responsible for the deaths of innocent people are “enemies of humanity.”
“The bomber detonated himself near the vehicle of the Deputy Superintendent of Police,” Deputy Inspector General of Police Munir Ahmed told Reuters, adding that the blast occurred near a mosque where people were gathering for a procession commemorating Prophet Mohammad’s (SAW) birthday, which is a public holiday.
