Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced the introduction of the NADRA mobile app and the opening of three new regional offices in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
He indicated that the Pak-ID website would be closed, and that all NADRA services will now be accessible via the mobile app in order to solve the issues experienced by residents, particularly Pakistanis living overseas.
NADRA’s Pak-ID website will be decommissioned as all services migrate to a mobile app. New regional offices would be constructed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to Mohsin Naqvi, users had previously had issues submitting fingerprints and needed papers to the website.
Furthermore, fraudulent elements were aiding in the manufacture of forged identification papers via counterfeit websites. Strict measures against such abuses are being implemented in coordination with other institutions.
The minister underlined that the NADRA mobile app has been greatly upgraded, with services now including ID card applications, POC, B-forms, and FRCs. The software now allows citizens to complete the full process of obtaining their identification documents from the comfort of their own homes.
He also stated that the three new regional offices will open by March 31, improving service delivery in outlying locations.Furthermore, the minister stated that NADRA intends to open offices in all tehsils across the nation by March 31, with just 19 left to be covered.
