ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Fawad Chauhdry, senior vice-president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), met with US Ambassador Donald Blome on Thursday at the US embassy in Islamabad, according to A-News.

According to insiders, the discussion lasted an hour and both parties addressed the current political situation in Pakistan in depth. At the meeting, they also addressed the state of human rights.

At the discussion, Fawad Chauhdry said that the PTI was “not anti-American,” but desired a relationship with the US based on mutual respect and equality.

In a tweet, Fawad Chauhdry said, “Such encounters are part of mutual desire to build relationship based on equality and welfare of people.”
