ISLAMABAD (Today News) – According to the Islambad High Court (IHC), the deputy commissioner lacks the competence to issue detention orders under 3MPO.

After hearing the petitioners’ arguments, Justice Babar Sattar pronounced the reserved ruling in the matter of PTI leaders Sheryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar’s arrest under 3MPO.

The judge ruled that the Islamabad deputy commissioner lacked the jurisdiction to issue detention orders under 3 MPO since only the federal government should have such authority.

The plea of the two PTI leaders was dismissed by the IHC.
