Nearly two weeks ago, the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, sparking a conflict in the Gulf area.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that he was unconcerned about Iran-backed strikes on US land, despite the Federal Bureau of Investigation warning that Iranian drones may strike the US West Coast, ABC News reported.
Nearly two weeks ago, the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, escalating the conflict in the Gulf.
Tehran has launched retaliatory attacks in retaliation to US-Israeli strikes that killed high-ranking Iranian officials, including the country’s supreme leader.
On Wednesday, when asked if he was concerned about Iran’s potential reprisal, Trump responded, “No, I’m not.”
According to ABC News, the FBI alerted police departments in California that Iran may fire drones in response to US assaults on the West Coast.According to ABC News, the FBI issued an alert at the end of February stating that Iran planned to launch a surprise attack on unspecified targets in California using unmanned aerial vehicles if the US conducted strikes against Iran.We have no further information about the time, manner, target, or perpetrators of this claimed attack.”
The FBI, Los Angeles Police Department, Governor of California, and Mayor of Los Angeles did not immediately reply to demands for comment.
Reuters reported earlier this month that Iran and its proxies may launch assaults in reaction to US strikes.
According to a threat assessment by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis, Iran and its proxies represent a “probably” threat of targeted strikes against the US. However, a large-scale physical attack is improbable.
