MULTAN – Former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar is the most recent PTI politician to resign.
In a news conference at the Quetta news Club, he criticised the May 9 violence and urged all stakeholders to leave their parties and think about Pakistan’s future.
Buzdar went on to say that the military sites attacked belonged to the state of Pakistan and that “I believe we should avoid such incidents.” He said that he was and would always be a supporter of the Pakistan Army. Buzdar appealed for the quick release of all “innocent citizens” who were imprisoned.
Buzdar informed reporters that he served Punjab for approximately three years and always championed aristocratic politics. He said that he has been dealing with various instances for around 14 months.
Mr Buzdar is presently the subject of a NAB investigation investigating corruption allegations. During the last days of the PTI administration in Punjab, he was succeeded as chief minister by Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
