ISLAMABAD (A News) Bushra Bibi, former prime minister Imran Khan’s wife, has petitioned the Islamabad High Court for an expedited hearing on her sentence suspension motion in the £190 million case.
Bushra Bibi noted in her petition that the hearing was originally set for March 25, but was postponed owing to her lead counsel’s involvement in a murder case before the Supreme Court. The court’s limited cause list resulted in additional delays, putting the case beyond Eid.
She insisted that, as a 54-year-old housewife, her sentencing suspension request be reviewed before Eid, alongside the main appeal.
The petition named the federal government and the NAB chairman as respondents.
