A 12-member interim cabinet for Gilgit-Baltistan was sworn in.

Twelve ministers of the Gilgit-Baltistan caretaker government were sworn in on Tuesday during an oath-taking ceremony at the Governor House in Gilgit, signaling the start of the temporary administration ahead of assembly elections.

Due to the governor’s absence, Nazir Ahmed, the speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, administered the oath of office. During the event, he gave the oath to each of the twelve caretaker ministers.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally authorized the temporary government four days earlier. The decision allowed the interim administration to assume authority until the electoral process was completed.
