On Monday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) barred Prime Minister Imran Khan from attending a public assembly in Mansehra.
The Prime Minister’s visit to Manshera is set on March 25, according to the statement, however the ECP has prohibited the PM from attending the rally since it would violate the code of conduct.
The District Monitoring Officer, according to the ECP statement, has prevented the PM from attending the event. Meanwhile, the ECP has directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Secretary to cancel the Prime Minister’s visit to Mansehra.
Public office holders are not authorised to attend rallies or public gatherings, according to the code of conduct.
