Despite a ban, kite flying is still a deadly sport in Pakistan, as evidenced by the death of a 24-year-old man in Lahore on Wednesday after a kite string slashed his neck.
According to accounts, Danial, 24, was riding his motorcycle in Lahore’s Iqbal Town neighbourhood when the string of a stray kite looped around his neck, leaving him in a pool of blood.
The injured man was taken to a hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, Lahore’s CCPO, Fiaz Ahmed, has taken notice of the tragic event and has asked a report from DIG Operations.
