LAHORE — Dense fog covered many towns in Punjab, including Lahore, on Monday and Tuesday nights, paralysing ordinary life and affecting vehicle traffic.

The severe fog has hampered traffic movement in a number of places. According to a Motorway spokeswoman, the Motorways M2 from Thokar Niaz Baig to Kot Momin, M3 from Faizpur to Darkhana, M4 from Multan to Pindi Bhattian, M5 from Shershah to Zahir Pir, and M11 from Mehmood Booti to Sambrial have all been blocked to all traffic.

The motorway police have urged cars to travel on the Grand Trunk (GT) Road. They have also advised vehicles to drive slowly and to use fog lights.

The highway police have also asked people to remain at home and avoid needless travel. Due to reduced visibility, dense fog has also affected traffic on the National Highway at various locations around the province.
