According to industry watcher Exhibitor Relations on Sunday, “The Batman” remained swinging from the rafters this weekend, generating a projected box-office-leading $36.8 million in North American theatres while also performing well worldwide.

Warner Bros.’ dark and violent superhero film starring Robert Pattinson as the title character has crossed the $300 million mark domestically in just three weeks, while nearly doubling that number internationally, with $598 million.

Another dark film, Crunchyroll/fantasy Funimation’s animation “Jujutsu Kaisen 0,” landed in second place for the Friday-through-Sunday period (95 percent owned by Sony Pictures). It’s about a youngster who becomes a sorcerer and encounters a cursed spirit.
