The Supreme Court will not allow police to use court grounds as a hunting ground

In its detailed order on the arrest of the PTI chief on the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 9, the Supreme Court stated that granting relief to a suspect was a routine practise “to enforce his fundamental rights of access to justice and liberty by ensuring his unobstructed access to a competent court.”

On Friday night, the Supreme Court issued a lengthy order outlining the reasons for releasing the PTI head.

The Supreme Court also cautioned law enforcement authorities against detaining someone within the confines of a court, especially after they have surrendered.
